Are your food cravings triggered by a stressful job or bad relationship??
One of the very common factor in poor eating choices like high processed
foods is the Stress factor. Recognizing here stress is being triggered is the
very first step for healthier changes.
Make eating a pleasurable experience. Begin each meal by looking at
your food, smelling it.
In my household no TV or other electronics are allowed at the table (sorry
if you called me or email at that time, I am not answering.) That way my
family can engage in conversations instead of looking down at a screen.
Chew your food well – 25 times per mouthful or more.
I must say sometimes I really have to remind myself about this one!! Busy
making sure the kids are feed, I don't even chew my own food, but guess
what!! Digestion starts in the mouth and the more we chew our food the
better and more efficient digestion will be. So let's chew up.
Celebrate what’s new and good
in your life instead of dwelling on things that aren’t going well.
From that place of gratitude, take action to improve your life one step at a
time. Everyday there is always something to be thankful for. Start right
now!
